Mero Pariwar is a non-profit organization established in 2014, registered in Lalitpur and affiliated with the Social Welfare Council of Nepal. It has been serving the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of vulnerable people in Nepal through education, safe water, disaster relief, health, livelihood support, and child and women protection programs.

Our founder, Sangita Kunwar, was once an orphan herself. She turned her pain into purpose by founding Mero Pariwar. It's a place where vulnerable children and women can find hope, healing, and belonging. Her powerful testimony is the foundation of the organization's heart and mission.

Mero Pariwar is currently working in 18 districts across Nepal. We are expanding our ministry to other districts.

We serve vulnerable communities through six major areas: • Education • Child and women protection • Disaster response • Healthcare (HOCL-based disinfectants and wound care) • Livelihood training • Water purification and supply

We primarily serve: • Orphaned and vulnerable children • People living with disabilities • Single mothers and women rescued from trafficking • Prisoners • Elderly people • Communities affected by disasters • Students in public schools • Families in remote and unreached areas

We have : • Installed over 300 water purification systems in 18 districts • Provided safe drinking water to over 15,000 people • Equipped 79 schools and 110 communities and prisons with clean water access • Conducted hygiene and wound care education sessions • Responded to multiple disasters with emergency support • Supported the education and well-being of vulnerable children and women

We act quickly during emergencies by providing: • Clean water and sanitation • Food, blankets, and shelter • Medical and hygiene supplies • Solar lights and education support • Our procurement process is very fast during emergencies. Our team was one of the first responders to the 2023 Jajarkot earthquake, helping over 500 families. We have worked with earthquake-, landslide-, and flood-affected people in the past.

We provide training and startup support in areas like farming, tailoring, handicrafts, poultry, and more. Our health division produces HOCL-based disinfectant products, aiming to create a non-profit income stream to sustain our mission.

We use a process called electrolytic disinfection. In this method, electricity is applied to a saltwater solution to produce a safe disinfectant (HOCl), which kills bacteria, viruses, and other pathogens in the water. This method is highly effective, safe, and suitable for community use.

Yes, the water purified through our system is 100% safe for drinking. It removes harmful bacteria, viruses, and other contaminants that cause waterborne diseases.

The bad smell is usually due to chlorine, which is used in the purification process to disinfect the water. Although the smell may be unpleasant, it means the water is being treated effectively and is safe to drink. Letting the water sit for a few minutes can help the smell fade.

We use only common table salt (NaCl) in the purification process. The system converts this salt into a safe disinfectant (like HOCl, hypochlorous acid) using an electrolysis process. It is a natural and non-toxic method to kill germs and purify water without adding harmful chemicals.

No, the system does not filter out dirt, sand, or other sediments. It is designed only to kill germs and disinfect the water. If the water source contains visible dirt or particles, we recommend using a cloth or basic filter first before purification.

No, there is no risk of electric shock while using the system. All electrical components are low-voltage and properly insulated, making it safe to handle. However, we recommend not touching or tampering with electrical parts with wet hands as a general safety practice.

There is no fixed time to purify the water. The process depends on the amount and quality of the water. Generally, it takes 5-15 minutes for 500-1000 liters of water. That’s why we always check the chlorine level manually using a chlorine test kit and match the result with the color chart. Once the correct chlorine level is achieved, the water is considered safe. However, it is ideal to wait for 30 minutes after purification to ensure the disinfectant has had enough time to kill all germs and pathogens.
