Bringing Clean Water to Majhbang: Kalika Water Project Halfway Complete
We are excited to share the latest update on our Kalika Water Project in Majhbang, Chitwan, which is bringing clean and safe water to 16 remote households in the Chepang community.
Half of the construction work is complete, including the building of a source dam, intake and collection tanks, and installation of a 900-meter gravity-fed pipeline system. Water is already flowing through the pipeline, and most of the tap stands have been constructed.
Once finished, this project will save women and girls hours which they previously spent fetching water. They will now have more time to grow vegetables, raise domestic animals, and improve their livelihoods. Access to clean water will enhance the overall hygiene and health for the entire community.
With strong local community support, we are on track to complete the project by the end of June 2025.
We look forward to sharing more updates soon.
